Ringing in the New Year with Resolutions

According to History.com, making resolutions dates back over 4,000 years ago! Keeping the tradition alive, many people, including the Mindful Kreative team, still make resolutions every New Year. “I’m excited to make this resolution since it’s so important to always keep an open mind and keep learning. You don’t know what you don’t know, right?”

Client Services Director, Annie– Focus on removing processed sugars from her diet

“I already do this with my daughter’s food choices but feel like I need to make a better effort with what I am eating. Now a days so many foods are full of unnecessary sugar and out of convenience and taste, we choose the quickest/easiest option. I know it’s going to take more effort to prepare things, but with a little planning I think it will be a step in the right direction to leading a healthier lifestyle.”

“A lot of us have small kids, so between busy work schedules and raising little ones, we rarely find time to get together. Over the last few months, we started going out to dinner once a month and it’s something I look forward to continuing into the New Year. We already have another dinner date planned for the first week of January!”

“I love reading, especially thrillers and non-fiction, but I don’t make enough time to do it. I plan on following through with my resolution by checking out books from the library and committing to having the book read by the time it is due back. If I don’t read it in time, I’ll make myself pay the late fee until I’m finished.”

“I think the little things really make a difference. It’s easy to unconsciously pick up bad habits like snacking on unhealthy foods or laying around instead of going to the gym. I need to practice making conscious decisions to follow a healthier lifestyle. I love working out, it’s just having the motivation to get there that’s the trouble for me. I’m going to hold myself accountable by not purchasing pop or junk food and also by paying my monthly gym membership fee without canceling it even if I don’t go. I think this will be enough encouragement to go and I know I’ll feel a lot better once I start eating healthier and working out more frequently!”

“I find myself checking/sharing on social media and texting a lot these days, so much that I want to make a point to be more present and connect with people again on a personal level, not just through a screen.
