Intern Spotlight: Meet Julia Ruffing

The Mindful Kreative team is overjoyed to have Julia Ruffing as a graphic design intern for the spring semester! Julia is a senior at La Roche University, where she is majoring in Graphic Design, and is a strong addition to our fierce design team!

Giving her a diverse experience in everything from creating logos to other promotional branding, Julia has previously worked as a graphic designer for a number of places including Embargo, Pittsburgh Cares and Music for MS, to name a few. Through these experiences, she has learned the importance of organization, especially when juggling several projects at once. To balance her many ideas and projects, Julia recommends investing in a quality bullet journal to document all ideas, both big and small, as you never know where they might lead.

“I wanted to pursue a career in graphic design because I found the way graphic designers communicate visually, and the creativity behind each composition, to be extremely fascinating,” said Julia.

Through various projects with user interface, user experience, editing, branding and website design, Julia’s skillset is versatile, just like the ice cream flavor she would use to describe herself.

“If I were an ice cream flavor, I would be Neapolitan because it’s an all-purpose, three-flavor choice,” said Julia. “I would describe myself as someone who is always experiencing new things or willing to adapt to improve my skills.”

With an iced coffee in hand and her favorite motto, “take every day one step at a time,” in her heart, Julia is ready to take on this new experience and anything that comes her way.

Julia has already proven her professionalism and design expertise in her work so far, and we know she’ll continue to accomplish great things in her time with the MK team!
