We’re thrilled to welcome Alexus Metayer to the Mindful Kreative team as one of our fall 2026 communications interns!
As a Point Park University graduate student with a degree in broadcasting reporting and a minor in public relations, advertising, and social media, Alexus brings an impressive background in strategic communications and multimedia storytelling to MK.
Alexus’ reporting experience includes an internship with WTAE — but her work in media doesn’t stop there. She’s also the creator and host of Who’s Next with Lex, an interactive lifestyle and entertainment series highlighting Pittsburgh creatives, entrepreneurs and cultural events.As the host and producer, Alexus manages the show’s production from start to finish. She creates content for TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube and has grown the series to more than 100,000 total views through relatable content and consistent storytelling.
As Communications Manager for the A. Philip Randolph Institute, Alexus developed digital strategies, wrote and distributed press releases and collaborated with community partners to increase visibility and engagement. She also supported media programs and public events at Point Park University’s Center for Media Innovation.
Most recently, Alexus has brought her communications and content skills to Friendship Circle Pittsburgh, creating social media and video content that highlights participant stories and organizational impact.
Alexus describes herself as confident and ambitious, two qualities that have already taken her well beyond the newsroom. She even walked the runway at New York Fashion Week with Fashion Nova, one of her favorite brands! And as the third oldest of eight sisters, she’s no stranger to navigating a little chaos, either.
Originally from Miami, Alexus has enjoyed getting to know her new city and discovering what makes Pittsburgh feel like home. One of her favorite local spots is Burgatory on the North Shore, followed by a walk along the river. And when it’s time to completely turn her brain off, you’ll probably find her watching Love Island.
Alexus has titled this chapter of her life “Growing Through It,” a reflection of the personal growth and self-discovery she’s experiencing right now.
We’re excited to see where this chapter takes Alexus and all that she’ll bring to MK along the way.
