We’re thrilled to welcome Lorena DiDomenico to the Mindful Kreative team this semester!
Born in Pittsburgh and raised in Butler, Lorena is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in professional writing at Slippery Rock University, where she is also minoring in strategic communications and media. She previously earned an associate of fine arts in English from Butler County Community College.
Lorena brings hands-on experience in social media and community engagement to MK. While working at Vintage Coffeehouse, she builds relationships with the community and develops social media content. She has also helped create drinks and events in collaboration with community partners.
Her communications experience extends beyond the workplace, too. While volunteering with Community Meal Ministries, Lorena created social media content and flyers, press releases, and coordinated radio interviews across three stations. She even participated in a radio interview to help share the organization’s message with the community.
One lesson that has stuck with Lorena throughout her communications experience is the importance of staying organized and making a message easy for an audience to understand.
Her advice for other students entering the field? Know who you’re talking to! Being intentional with messaging is key to successful communication.
During her time at MK, Lorena is looking forward to expanding her knowledge of the different areas of communications and getting a taste of agency life.
So, what does Lorena’s life look like when she closes the laptop? You’ll probably find her spending time with her family, watching whatever series everyone is currently hooked on, taking a hot Pilates class, or checking out a new coffee shop.
Lorena has titled this chapter of her life “Deep Breaths,” a reminder to take things as they come and not stress over every moment. It goes hand-in-hand with the motto she lives by — everything happens for a reason.
We’re excited to see where this chapter takes Lorena and all that she’ll bring to MK along the way. Please join us in giving Lorena a warm welcome to the Mindful Kreative team!
